I began competitive dance in 1996 in Regina, Sk. I have trained in many styles – mostly Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical, Baton, Pointe, Hiphop, and Musical Theatre. I received my Elementary Certification in CDTA Jazz and Grade 5 in RAD ballet at 16 years old, as well as was an assistant teacher and trained in Norway for a year. After I moved to Medicine Hat for college, I no longer had the time or passion for competitive dance, and began to spend less and less time doing the physical activities that I loved. In 2013 I decided I needed to get my butt in gear and get more active, so I took my first pole dance class and it was instant love! It motivated me to be a healthier version of myself and I started taking exercise and healthy eating seriously again. I started teaching Advanced and Intermediate pole fitness in May 2015, and have enjoyed every minute of it. I love to apply my dance training with pole class, so we learn short routines, stretch well, and throw in some conditioning as well.
No matter your goal, Pole Fitness is for everyone! It is a great confidence builder. You will be amazed at how strong you can get from such a fun activity, and don’t worry, you’ll feel pretty sexy too!
